Looking back to over 60 years ago I saw a very different world to what I see today.
Then it was a much more godly world, where my God, Adonai, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was held in high esteem. Blasphemy was seldom heard
God Almighty’s name was still called upon in Parliament and other prominent institutions; where prayer to God, in Jesus’ name, was normal, and everyday practice. Even small gatherings were begun by first asking God’s blessing over the proceedings.
Most people respected the Word of God and Sundays were still Holy days and a day of rest. All the shops, except the essential services, such as hospitals, were closed to the public. Sundays were a day of worship and the Bible was respected as God’s Word to us. All the morals of the country were based on the Bible’s code of conduct.
60 years on I see absolute moral decay on a world-wide basis. God Almighty’s name has been taken out of constitutions, schools and public places. It has become almost a crime to mention the name of Jesus in public. In some counties you are regarded as a “terrorist” if you do. Other god’s names may be mentioned but not the name of Jesus. The names of foreign gods (idols) are called upon for national blessings where once God, in the name of Jesus, was called upon.
Blasphemy is rife today and God’s name is taken in vain every day at homes, in public, on radio, on TV and in the movies. Sordid advertisements are shown on TV. Sexual perversion is also rife and openly promoted. Sunday is no more a day of rest. It is business as usual 7 days a week. Is no more a Holy day to most people. Morals all over have gone into a steep decline, marriage between a man and a woman is no more regarded as holy and normal. Homosexuality and gay marriage, once not allowed by law, are now lawful and encouraged in many countries. Teenage pregnancies have shot through the roof. Abortion (legalized murder) is an every day event. All these, and more, are sinful and an abomination in God’s eyes.
Because God is no more respected, and His moral laws thrown out of the window, it is no wonder that the world has degenerated to the extent that it has. God’s blessing are no more requested in national affairs and because of this He has started to remove His blessings, but not completely as yet, because of His remnant still on this earth.
I see great apostacy in the Churches today and this apostacy is gathering more momentum daily. Many Church Leaders have lost their first love and are leading their flocks astray, away from the true unadulterated Word of God. Many are openly denying Jesus as the Son of God, denying the Holy Trinity, and much more. Some profess the name of Jesus but their ministry has the form of godliness but denies the power thereof. Read 2 Timothy 3:1-7. Not many churches are preaching the true and pure Word of God today.
No wonder the world is in such ungodly turmoil at the moment. Because He has been shunned by most, He has been withdrawing His Blessings. Very soon His Blessings will be totally withdrawn and the Great Day of the Lord will begin.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:21, “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
A righteous God will soon come to judge a sinful world.
Just by looking at the prophetic happenings that are being fulfilled to the letter at this very moment it would seem that that Day is not very far away. So much more ungodly things are happening today that most people are oblivious of, that Jesus said, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for you redemption draweth nigh.”
Jesus told us to watch and pray, and if you are not watching and looking you will not see what others are seeing
How can we escape the Day of God’s Wrath
We all need forgiveness for sins we have committed.
Luke 21:28, Jesus said, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
We escape by becoming one of the remnant of God’s children.
By first acknowledging that, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”Romans 3:23
Sin comes by not obeying the commands and moral laws of God in our lives.
We have to repent of our sins and then accept Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour.
When you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit that now comes to dwell inside of you. Just before Jesus went up to heaven, He said to his disciples, in
Luke 24:46, “Thus it is written,, and thus it behoveth Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: (47) And that repentance of sins should be preached in his name among all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (48) And ye are witnesses of these things. (49)And behold, I send the promise [Holy Spirit] of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”
This born again is a spiritual birth.
John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jesus died on the cross and rose again on the third day so that we can receive forgiveness for our sins, and by the covering of His shed blood we are able to come into the presence of a Holy God.
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whososever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
1 John 5:1-2, “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ [Anointed One] is born of God.”
John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and he shall go in and out and find pasture.”
Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
If you have not yet Jesus as your Saviour, he is knocking on the door of your heart right now. Why don’t you accept his invitation . The door is open – all you have to do is to enter in.
1 Peter 2:9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye show forth the praises of him who called you out of darkness [of the world] into his [God’s] marvelous light. (10) Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.”
Remember NOW is the hour of your salvation!
